A country church, a group of friends and a white Rolls Royce are all iconic signs of a great British wedding but the popular part of any wedding is the cake.

A wedding cake is the centre piece of any weeding celebration and it’s often thought that the quality of your cake is a symbol of the quality of your marriage.

Wedding cakes are not like your standard cake bought in the local supermarket, wedding cakes are hand made works of art hand crafted especially for your celebration. Wedding cakes take time to make and because of this it’s advisable to order the cake months in advance as something this important should not be left to the last minute.

Traditional weeding cakes are presented on a tier setup and contain a beautiful Victoria sponge and fruit cake combination. After the sponge mixture is made it’s wrapped in Belgian marzipan and iced to perfection by a master baker.

Once the cake has been assembled the baker will add the finish touches and it’s traditional to add an edible bride and groom based on the real man and woman getting married.

When you order a weeding cake its normal for the baker to deliver it to the venue and set the cake up on the display table. Once the wedding has taken place and people have returned to the reception the first thing done is to cut the cake and seal the love.
